Computed Tomography Technicians use computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Computed Tomography Technicians work under the guidance of qualified doctors/radiologists closely following instructions provided by physicians or radiologists.
The first year of the program consists of an intensive study of anatomy and physiology, including cytology, histology, osteology and the basics of all organs. Students study the basics of relevant pathology, pharmacology and microbiology as well as radio physics and radiographic positions and radiation hazards. Basic life support (BLS) and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) also form a part of the coursework.
The second year curriculum of the radiology course comprises of details of relevant surgical and medical conditions, nursing procedures (recording the vitals, IM/IV/SC injection, oxygen therapy, nebulization and IV infusion), CT physics, slice anatomy, CT positioning and CT guided procedures.
All students are also trained in computer skills and communication skills, as well as soft skills such as interpersonal interaction skills and moral education. This makes them more employable.
10+2 science with 40% (PCB/PCM) by any recognized Institute/Board.
Age must be 17 years or more. (No Upper Age limit)
