Diploma in OT Technician
The two-year diploma program has been structured so as to train professionals to assist doctors in operating rooms and work under the supervision of anesthetists and surgeons. The diploma program prepares students for overall management of operating rooms. An OT Technician's work includes taking care of the ins and outs of surgery and assisting the surgeon during the operation. Other duties include arranging operating room table, dressing table, instrument table, anesthesia table, sterilization of all surgical instruments, drapes and linen; facilitating drugs and anesthesia gases required for surgery.
The operating theatre technician is a crucial part of the team that manages and organizes the whole operation theatre in the absence of whom neither can a surgeon operate nor can a hospital or healthcare centre run efficiently.
The healthcare industry has experienced a rapid increase in demand for skilled professionals which has led to an increase in enrollments at Apex Paramedical Institute. The institute offers many more allied health science and paramedical programs than it did some years ago.
Course Objective:
- To learn about standard operating procedures and protocols for preoperative and postoperative care
- To be able to apply principles of safe practice in operation theatre
- To acquire knowledge of the process of sterilization so as to prepare the OT before surgery
- To acquire knowledge and understanding of vital parameters to be maintained during the operation
- To demonstrate skills in maintenance of complete operation theatre
- To develop skills to access, analyze and evaluate the information gathered during the treatment
- To understand professional and ethical responsibilities in patient care
Eligibility Criteria For Admission:
10+2 science with 40% (PCB/PCM) by any recognized Institute/Board.
Age must be 17 years or more. (No Upper Age limit)
