Diploma in Dialysis Technician
The two-year Diploma in Dialysis Technician Program at Apex Paramedical Institute has been designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you will need to be a successful dialysis technician, whether you choose to work in a hospital, paramedical teaching institution or dialysis center.
The curriculum enables students to learn the skills required for renal dialysis and haemo dialysis. Students are also taught how to apply principles of safe practice in dialysis therapy and maintain equipment.
The first year curriculum includes general anatomy, physiology, general pathology, pharmacology & microbiology. Further basics of dialysis techniques, hand hygiene & prevention of cross infection and basic life support & cardio-pulmonary resuscitation is also taught. During the second year, students learn about relevant surgical and medical conditions, nursing procedures like recording of vital signs, intramuscular/intravenous/subcutaneous injections and oxygen therapy. They also learn about diseases related to nephrology and hemodialysis as well as continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).
Course Objective:

- To have a basic understanding of renal diseases
- To learn to conduct dialysis procedure
- To understand the use of drugs for dialysis
- To be able to perform basic procedures like IV/IM /SC injections, nebulization, and oxygen therapy
- To discern ethical & professional responsibilities during patient care
Eligibility Criteria For Admission:
10+2 science with 40% (PCB/PCM) by any recognized Institute/Board.
Age must be 17 years or more. (No Upper Age limit)
